2.3 Test Chronology
The system was installed under the direction of .the manufacturer on May 20, 1999. The
infiltrationlexfiltration test was completed on May 21, 1999. The plant was filled with 213 fresh water and 113
raw sewage and then dosing was initiated at the rate of 600 US gpd, beginning May%21: Sampling was
started..on May'25, 1999. The stress test sequence was started on September.13 ander on NoKembar
3, and testing was completed on November 19, 1999.
On July 26, visual inspection indicated that mixing>in the second aeration charnbar had ceased, although
air could still be seen bubbling up. The diffuser at the bottom of the chamber-was'pr'obed to check on its
condition, which appeared to restart mixing. Approximately 2.5 ft3 of media was removed from the second
chamber, and was not replaced for the duration of the test.
On August 10, the plant was found to be in a flooded condition. A blownfusecaused Ow"discharge pump
to fail over night, resulting in a high liquid level in the plant. The fuse was replaced and the plant operation
was not otherwise. affected. Approximately'2:5 ft3 of media:had been transferred over the baffle, wall
between the second aerakv chamber and the secondary darifierchamber during the high level condition.
This was discovered-at the end of testing during a detailed inspection of the system:
Inspection of the piant.oa.September 10, 1999, found the plant had riot been dosed in about 20 hours due
to a computer programming error. The program was,reset,and-normal dosing col rued.
3.0 ANALYTICAL RESULTS :.
3.1 Summary
Chemical analyses of samples c oiected during #**valuation were completed using the pFocedures in
Stand"Methods for do Examination of Water.and Wastewater3 and USEPA inethods.' Copies of the datk
generated;during the evaluation are induded•WAppendix C. Results of'the cherrtical analyses and on-site
observations and measurements made during the evaluation are summarized In Table I,
Criteria for evaluating:the amlytical results from the testingiare.-described in Section 9.5 of ANSUNSF
Standard 40. In completing the passlfail determination for the data, an allowance is made for effluent
suspended solids and CBOOs during the first, month of testing. ,The'30 and 7 day averages during this time
may not equal or exceed 1.4 times the effluent limits required for the rest of the'test.- Thisprovlsiorr
recognizes that an immature culture of microorganisms within the system may require additional time to
achieve adequate treatrnentaf ciency. Effluent from the EnviroServer 600 during thwfirst calendar month
of testing was within the normal limits and did not need to use this provisign.,
99/1$12016AM This report may not be reproduced in whole or In pert ,10 of 49
Final Report without the expressed written consent of N9F.Wdemational.
