All waste activated
sludge was aerobically digested and decanted to reduce volume and stored until tanks are full.
During the month Pond 2 was cleaned.
Exceptions/Violations
1. Minimum pond freeboard exceeded permit requirements on May 1, 2, 9, 10, 16, and 24, due
to routine filter backwashing.
2. Effluent BOD exceeded 30-day average concentrations (78.4 mg/L). This was probably due
to accumulation of solids in pond 2. Pond was cleaned later in the month.
Calibration Log
Shadow Lake does not use any analytical instruments that require calibration for the reporting of
waste discharge requirements.
