However,high levels in Pond 1 on <br /> during the first week of Augustexaggerated the flow readirgs for days I through 11. High levels were due <br /> to slow drainage of the effluent dry wells. These were cleaned during the first part of the month of August <br /> and now effluent is draining properly <br /> During the month 15,000 gallons of sludge was removed fromthe plant. All waste sludge was aerobically <br /> 3. digested and decanted to reduce volume. All sludge removed is taken to the City of Stockton Regional <br /> Wastewater Control Facility. <br /> Exceptions/Violations <br /> I. Monthly average BOD concentration was exceeded (61.2mg/L on Aug 12) due to lowdissolved <br /> oxygen concentrationin pond I due to overflow of excessive solids from the clarifier. This was <br /> corrected by using polymer to control blanket levels until the activated sludge system was brought <br /> under control. <br /> 2. Minimum freeboard levels were exceeded onAug 7 due to slow drainage of dry wells. <br /> Calibration Log <br /> fiShadow Lake does not use any analytical instruments that require calibration for the reporting of waste <br /> discharge requirements.
