1
 At
VALLEY AG
RES E ARCH
IM
r-
July 13, 1994
Mr. Ray Borges, R.E.H.S.
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
445 North San Joaquin Street
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Mr. Borges:
Va11ey.Ag Research is presenting this outline of our upcoiming Nitrate Loading Study Report
regarding to the Stockton Open Air Mall which will be delivered to your office upon completion.
The Application -Revisions of Approved Actions pertain to UP-93-09 and 2R-93-01.
Our Nitrate Loading Study Report will be an addendum to the existing study and report which
was conducted at this time last year. As you recall, it is being proposed by the applicants to have
a bingo parlor on the premises of the Stockton Open Air Mall.
Additionally, our report will discuss effluent loading rates and correlate this data with septic
system design criteria. The existing septic system was design for a wastewater flow of 30,000
gallons per day. Due to the unanticipated decrease in the number of customers at the Open Air
Mall, the increased effluent and nitrate loading rates will be comparable to our original
calculations. These calculations were within acceptable limits.
We are also proposing that with the additional effluent generated by the extended hours of the
bingo parlor, an additional septic system structure be incorporated into the design. There will be
three, 40 foot leachlines with three 5 X 25 ft seepage pits at the end of each leachline. The
additional septic structure will be to shunt the effluent from the distribution box at the top of the
leachlines, back to the property border to be managed by a maximum of 50 seepage pits. These
pits will also have trees adjacent to them to evapotranspirate the effluent. -
Respectfully submitted,
o10 '
VALLE AG RESEARCH ey
No. 0675 !1 >
xpires:
Don Chesney
CP CAL
P.O.
