L
Lf VI. CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Lf Septic system design recommendations for the addition of a Bingo Parlor to the Open Air Mall
are based upon wastewater flow requirements, research from the scientific literature and
Lrequirements as imposed by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department.
LAn important issue found in this investigation has been the increase in nitrate levels in the
adjacent, downgradient well. It is our opinion that farther analytical testing should be performed
on the water from this well to definitively assess nitrate and chloride concentrations.
C Our recommendations include sampling and analyzing the Brannon Tire well water on a
quarterly basis beginning as soon as possible, for nitrate and chloride concentrations. This
monitoring program should assess, to the best available extent, nitrate impact which may be
originating from the Open Air Mall. As discussed in the text of this report, researchers in the
past have usually observed an increase in chloride concentration from sewage contamination,
Leven before increased nitrate levels. This has not been observed with the Brannon Tire well.
This is the reason why a monitoring program should be implemented.
L
L
L
L
L
L
L
9
io
L `llaffey fiW Ppearck
