SITE ARRIVAL <br />' Upon arrival, the Sampling Technician confirms that they are at the correct location, checks in <br /> with the client, station or facility manager, property owner, regulator and/or any other relevant <br /> party and reviews the Scope of Work and Site Health and Safety Plan Any Issues pertaining to <br />' the Technicians ability to perform the required work in a safe manner are relayed to the BLAINE <br /> Project Coordinator and URS immediately <br />' 3. ESTABLISHING CLEAN-TO-DIRTY ORDER <br />' Prior to accessing any of the wells on a site, a clean-to-dirty order is established so that risks <br /> associated with cross-contamination are minimized The order is based on the most recent <br /> analytical information available and is documented on the Clean To Dirty Worksheet All efforts <br /> are made to conduct activities in the order of least contaminated to most contaminated If the <br />' order cannot be adhered to due to access issues, that fact is documented and subsequent <br /> decontamination efforts on the effected equipment are adjusted accordingly <br />' 4. WELL INSPECTIONS <br />' The condition of the wellhead Is checked for safety and integrity Notes concerning the <br /> conditions and corrective actions taken are noted on the Wellhead Inspection Checklist <br /> Deficient caps and padlocks are replaced during routine monitoring Deficiencies that cannot be <br /> lie <br /> immediately corrected are noted on the Wellhead Repair Order Conditions that pose a mayor <br /> threat to safety (cracked or missing well lid, all box tabs broken or stripped) are immediately <br /> reported to the BLAINE Project Coordinator and URS <br />' 5 WELL GAUGING <br />' DEPTH TO WATER <br /> Depth to water (DTW) measurements are collected at all required wells during each event with <br /> an industry standard electronic water level Indicator graduated in Increments of hundredths of a <br />' foot Water level measurements are collected at all wells prior to any purging activities All <br /> measurements are made to a mark or cut in the top of the well casing or well box that has been <br /> previously surveyed In the absence of a mark or cut, measurement is made to the north side of <br />' the casing <br /> SEPARATE PHASE HYDROCARBONS <br />' In wells not suspected of containing separate phase hydrocarbons (SPH), the water level <br /> indicator Is carefully examined for the presence of SPH when the tape Is withdrawn from the <br /> well If the presence of SPH is suspected, its presence is confirmed using an MMC <br /> International Corporation electronic interface detector The detectors steel tape is graduated in <br />' Increments of hundredths of a foot and is capable of measuring SPH at two-hundredths of a foot <br /> (0 02') thick or greater The detector is silent in ambient air, emits a solid tone as its probe <br /> encounters and passes through SPH and a dashed tone upon contacting water <br />' STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES—BP/ARCO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA Page 2 <br />
