Site Characterization Work Plan
ABF Freight System,Inc
Manteca,California Page 8
• 5.6 Monitoring Well Development and Sampling
After well installation is complete, CAL INC will develop and sample each well The wells will
be developed by using a combination of bailing and pumping with a centrifugal pump After well
development is complete, the wells will be sampled using a disposable polyethylene bailer The
water samples will be analyzed for TPH-D, BTEX, and Oxygenates
5.7 Water Level Measurements and Well Sampling
Water level measurements will be collected from each well prior to well development and
sampling In addition, at least one round of water levels will be collected All water level
measurements will be collected using an electronic water level sounding device
The top of casing of each well will be surveyed relative to a temporary benchmark, or a
permanent USGS benchmark, if readily available The top of casing elevations will be used in
conjunction with water Ievel measurement data for developing groundwater elevation contour
maps At a minimum, two groundwater elevation contour maps will be developed
5.8 Grouting and Waste Materials
All morutonng wells installed during the proposed investigation will be sealed according to
• PHS/EHD requirements All soil generated during the drilling, decontamination water, and
groundwater generated during the monitoring well development and sampling w>ilI be stored in
55 gallon drums and disposed of in accordance with al regulatory guidelines
5.9 Report Preparation
Upon completion of the field investigation, CAL INC will prepare a Site Assessment report
outlining the findings of the investigation described above The report will be consistent with
PHS/EHD guidelines and include a description of the field activities, figures showing sampling
locations, soil boring logs, a summary of the analytical data, water level data, and groundwater
elevation contour maps
•
N IPROJECTS132721PIansarid ReportslABF Final Site Charactenzaton Work Plan doc 6/23/98
