Site Contamination Work Plan <br /> Phase I Site Assessment,ABF Freight Systems, Inc <br /> 2427 West Yosemite Avenue,Manteca,California Page 1 <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> This document presents CAL INC's proposed scope of work for assessing the vertical and lateral <br /> extent of diesel contamination in soil and groundwater associated with a former 10,000 gallon <br /> diesel UST located at the site A background section and the scope of work for the site <br /> investigation are presented in the following sections <br /> 1.1 Purpose and Project Scope <br /> The scope of work for the site investigation includes conducting a soil and groundwater sampling <br /> program designed to assess the vertical and lateral extent of diesel contamination in soil and <br /> groundwater associated with the former 10,000 gallon diesel UST <br /> This document presents a description of the methodologies that will be utilized during the site <br /> investigation This document and the accompanying appendices were developed to meet all <br /> planning requirements In summary, the contract work will include <br /> 1 Regulatory file review, <br /> 2 Potential receptor survey, <br /> 3 Conducting an underground utility clearance, <br /> 4 The drilling, installation, and development of four monitoring wells, <br /> 5 The collection and analysis of soil and groundwater samples form each well, <br /> 6 Surveying the top of casing elevation of each well and the collection of groundwater <br /> elevation measurements to determine the depth and direction of groundwater flow, and <br /> 7 Preparation of report summarizing findings and recommendations <br /> 1.2 Plan Organization <br /> This workplan is organized into several sections, each of which describes a specific aspect of the <br /> project In general, the workplan is organized as follows <br /> • Section I INTRODUCTION This section provides a brief introduction to the workplan, <br /> including the purpose and scope of the project, and this outline <br /> • • Sectron2 REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS AND PERMITS This section identifies the <br /> federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the project <br /> N 1PROICCTS132721P1ans and Reportslworkplan doc April 13, 1998 <br />
