I'll need more information to close violation 3030. 1 agree that products that customers return products for various reasons including that they don't like them or are defective. Product returns like these can be accepted by West Marine. After acceptance West Marine will make a determination and resell the product, send it back to the manufacturer or dispose of the product . If it's hazardous waste West Marine will handle and dispose of the product as hazardous waste. However, expired flares are hazardous waste before a West Marine employee takes the waste from the customer. They are expired and cannot be resold. They are not defective and would not be returned to the manufacturer. Please clarify West Marine's policy for accepting expired flares, gasoline, aerosols, and corrosive solids from the public ( or customers).
