(GeoAudit collected soil samples from two underground
storage tank (UST) excavations at . Yosemite Avenue in Manteca, California (the
site). Tank removal procedures were performed by CTT. A sketch map of the site, showing
approximate soil sample locations, is attached.
Three 1,000-gallon UST's were removed from the site on September 16, 1994 (tanks T8, T9
and T10). The tanks were used to store motor oil. One soil sample was collected from
beneath the north and south ends of each tank. Each sample was collected from a depth of
11 feet. One soil sample (SP-1) was collected from the stockpiled soil. Each sample was
transported under chain-of-custody to Alpha Analytical Laboratories (AAL) in Ukiah,
California. Each samples was analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH as diesel and
motor oil) and volatile aromatics (BTE&X), in accordance with the appropriate EPA
methods. The laboratory report and chain-of-custody are attached.
On September 20, 1994, one waste oil UST was removed from the site. Two soil samples
were collected from beneath the waste oil tank (TK-N and TK-S). The samples were
collected from a depth of approximately 16 feet. Two soil samples(SP-1 and SP-2)were also
collected from the north and south ends of the stockpiled soil. The samples were
transported to AAL and analyzed for TPH as gasoline and diesel, BTE&X, chlorinated
hydrocarbons, PCB's and 5 LUFT metals in accordance with the appropriate EPA methods.
1
.II Spectrum Environmental Services• Hydrogt gy
