TM ING *CD <br /> f_ <br /> � . . <br /> 2828 Fallon Drive • Sherman, Texas 75090 <br /> FIREFLEXTM UL LISTED FLEXIBLE CONNECTOR SPECIFICATION <br /> FOR ABOVE AND BELOW GROUND APPLICATIONS <br /> SCOPE This specification covers the approval , performance, materials and installation <br /> requirements for flexible connectors used in above and below ground piping for <br /> petroleum products , alcohols , all alcohol-gasoline mixtures , bio-diesel & all bio- <br /> diesel blends . <br /> LISTING The finished assembly as furnished shall be UL and CUL Listed . <br /> UL file MH25059 and not exceed 96 inches in length . <br /> PERFORMANCE The assembly shall be rated at 350 psig . The assembly is all metallic* and will <br /> not support a flame in case of fire, in accordance with NFPA code 30 & 30A . <br /> The UL pressure requirement is 50 psig. <br /> Testable and usable under full vacuum <br /> MATERIALS Components are T321 stainless steel or carbon steel in accordance with ASTM <br /> specifications . <br /> Hose — 321 stainless steel; .015 " wall thickness . <br /> Ends — Carbon steel with schedule 80 male hex NPT as standard and available <br /> in a wide variety of options . <br /> Seals — Specially engineered polymer to withstand aromatic petroleum products, <br /> alcohols and alcohol-gasoline mixtures . <br /> * These seals have been UL fire tested and listed . <br /> UL file M1-125059 <br /> INSTALLATION Use standard API practices to connect . Do not torque the assembly . There is a <br /> lay line to indicate any sign of twisting . Install in a single plane of movement. <br /> Do not exceed the minimum centerline bend radius limitation . Always place a <br /> wrench on the pipe fitting, never behind the weld attaching the fitting to the <br /> hose . Do not lay the flexible connector on anything that could puncture it or <br /> cause damage by abrasion . <br /> TESTING All assemblies produced are pressure tested to 100 psig — twice the UL rated <br /> working pressure . <br /> WORKMANSHIP Products are warranted to be free from defects and workmanship . <br /> FLEX-ING always recommends that flex connectors be used in a liquid tight sump and with a working <br /> leak detection system. Installation Instruction Tags are an integral part of the flex-connector.
