4.2.3. Non-RCRA Hazardous Waste Solid (CWC #181)
As shown by Table 3,since the Baseline Year, this waste stream decreased from 10,000 lbs to 5,000 lbs in the
Reporting Year, which represents a 50%decrease over this time period. For source reduction approaches,
Dragon has continued operational improvements and administrative measures, which included off-site recycling
and employee training. This waste is being shipped offsite for treatment. The principal factors for this waste
stream are business volumes.Production has increased at the facility, resulting in more waste from the plasma
cutter operation.
4.2.4. Waste Paint 8t Waste Acetone (CWC #214)
As shown by Table 3,since the Baseline Year, this waste stream decreased from 9,644 lbs to 0 lbs in the
Reporting Year, which represents a 100%reduction over this time period. For source reduction approaches,
Dragon has continued operational improvements and administrative measures, which includes implementation
of greater employee training.
4.2.5. Waste Paint 8t Waste Acetone (CWC #352)
As shown by Table 3,since the Baseline Year, this waste stream decreased from 15,670 lbs to 8,685 lbs in the
Reporting Year, which represents a 45%reduction over this time period. For source reduction approaches,
Dragon has primarily employed has continued operational improvements and administrative measures, which
includes implementation of greater employee training. This waste is being shipped offsite for treatment.
4.2.6. Waste Oil (CWC #223)
As shown by Table 3,since the Baseline Year, this waste stream increased from 458 lbs to 38,099 lbs in the
Reporting Year, which represents a 7382%inflation(37,641 lbs difference) over this time period. For source
reduction approaches,Dragon has primarily employed operational improvements and administrative measures,
which included off-site recycling and employee training. This waste is being shipped offsite for treatment. The
principal factors of this waste stream are business volumes and maintenance practices.Production has
increased at the facility, resulting in more usage.
4.3. FACTORS AFFECTING COMPARISONS
For each major hazardous waste stream, the Performance Report must contain a description of factors that have
affected hazardous waste generation and management from the Baseline Year to the Reporting Year. Some
factors may have caused an increase in waste generation, such as increased manufacturing production. The
Performance Report should clearly describe the increase and evaluate why the increase occurred. To ensure a
fair comparison between the current Reporting Year and the Baseline Year, the Performance Report must
include a detailed description of factors affecting the generation,on-site management, and off-site management
of major hazardous waste streams.Factors that can influence generation and management of hazardous waste
may include:
Production increase between the Baseline Year and the Reporting Year.
Changes in business activity(production rate)
Changes in waste classification by the government
i Natural phenomena
Dragon Products, LLC.
