Operations <br /> Health & Safety <br /> Hazardous/Regulated Waste <br /> Guidelines <br /> Revised 10/19 <br /> Reviewed 10119 <br /> Hazardous and TJX policy requires that any hazardous and regulated wastes, including, but <br /> Regulated Waste not limited to, certain batteries and electronics (such as devices containing <br /> printed circuit boards), compact fluorescent bulbs, aerosol spray cans, <br /> fragrance, flammable liquids, cleaners, polishes and any other items <br /> meeting the definition of hazardous/regulated waste when disposed, are <br /> segregated properly and not thrown into store trash or recycling bins. <br /> Hazardous and Regulated Waste stores include those in the states of <br /> CA, CT, DE, FL, MA, ME, MN, NH, NY, RI AND VT. <br /> Guidelines Hazardous/regulated waste must be bagged and separated out from <br /> "common" waste and segregated by category into bins located in a <br /> Hazardous/Regulated Waste Collection Area located in the Backroom. The <br /> six major categories are: <br /> Universal Waste Bin - UW (Electronic Waste & Batteries) <br /> Examples include but not limited to: <br /> Electronic Waste <br /> • Radios/Walkie Talkies <br /> • Remote Controlled Toys <br /> • Battery Chargers <br /> • Cell Phones <br /> • Toys With An On/Off Switch <br /> • Curling/Straightening Irons <br /> • Computer Items <br /> • Any and all EAS security tags to be disposed of <br /> Batteries <br /> Batteries must be wrapped in electrical tape before being placed into the <br /> bin. <br /> • Alkaline Batteries <br /> • Common household batteries <br /> • Nickel Cadmium <br /> • Cell Phone Batteries <br /> • Most rechargeable batteries <br /> Aerosols and Flammable Liquids Bin - AF <br /> Examples include but not limited to: <br /> Flammable Liquids <br /> • Perfume & Cologne <br /> • Nail Polish & Nail Polish Remover <br /> • Non-Aerosol Hairspray <br /> • Diffusers <br /> • Furniture Polish & Wax <br /> • Liquid Sunscreen <br /> • Liquid Soaps & Cleaners (CA only) <br /> Aerosols <br /> 0 Aerosol Hairspray <br />
