The business operator must post the following information next to telephones or in areas directly involved in <br /> the generation and accumulation of hazardous waste: the name and emergency telephone number of the <br /> emergency coordinator, the location of fire extinguishers and spill control material, and the telephone number of the <br /> fire department unless the facility has a direct alarm. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately post the required information at the facility. Provide a statement to the San <br /> Joaquin County Environmental Health Department that the correction is complete. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 106 CCR 66262.34(d)(2)Failed to train employees on waste handling and emergency procedures. <br /> OBSERVATION: At the time of inspection, it could not be demonstrated (not necessarily documented)that <br /> employees who handle hazardous waste were properly trained, based on the following observations: <br /> 1.An aerosol can of Batiste Dry Shampoo and at least three bottles of nail polish were found in a Toxics Hazardous <br /> Waste container, although according to the hazardous waste container labels, aerosol cans and nail polish are to be <br /> placed a Aerosols and Flammable Liquids Hazardous Waste container. Cesar Fajardo,the store manager, placed <br /> the aerosol can and nail polish into the Aerosols and Flammable Liquids Hazardous Waste container at the time of <br /> inspection. <br /> 2. It was unclear why a face ointment/cleanser and a hair shampoo/treatment were being stored in the Oxidizers <br /> Hazardous Waste container, since the item labels did not reflect the guidance information on the Oxidizers <br /> hazardous waste label. Cesar was unable to determine why these waste items were placed in the Oxidizers <br /> Hazardous Waste container. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: The business owner must ensure that all employees are thoroughly familiar with proper <br /> waste handling and emergency procedures, relevant to their responsibilities during normal facility operations and <br /> emergencies. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately train or re-train the employees.
