The FACILITYSPECIFIC SUPPLEMENT page at the end of this <br /> The Joint Commission defines a "disaste ," as "an unexpected or sudden event" and also "a natural or training contains information about the codes for YOUR facility, <br /> human-made event that significantly disrupts the environment of care, or results in a sudden , significantly <br /> changed or increased demand for the organization's services," Examples of internal disasters might be: IT computer system failures, public utility outages, <br /> hazardous materials spills, fires. <br /> Commonly within Kaiser Permanente we define a "disaster" as any unplanned event, inside or outside <br /> our facility, that may affect our facilities , staff, patients , or our ability to provide care.
