TOWN & COUNTRY CONTRACTORS, INC. SAFETY PERFORMANCE
SITE SAFETY WORK PLAN
JOB HAZARD ANALYSIS
It is not anticipated that there will be any significant or major potential source of exposures due to the scope
of work to be followed on this project . The possible major contaminants to be encountered on the project are
Petroleum Hydrocarbons and Volatile Organic Compounds ( VOC' s ) . Inhalation and dermal hazards are the
major area of concern regarding the exposure to VOCs .
The major source of concern when considering hazard analysis on this project would be general site safety .
During construction all CAL and FED OSHA codes of safe practices will be followed to insure the safety of all
parties . Permits for the project from the proper local agencies will be posted on site . The proper authorities
and inspectors have, and will continue to play a vital role in the construction at this site .
WORK ZONES AND SECURITY MEASURES
A site must be controlled to reduce the possibility of exposure to any hazards or contaminants present to any
of the general public . Thus a formal work zone must be identified . In this particular case, the contractor will
"fence off" the work area with temporary fencing, cones and caution tape not to be removed until such time
that no hazards remain . Only authorized personnel will be allowed in this designated area . Personnel and
equipment on site will be minimized consistent with effective operations . Operations will be conducted in a
manner conducive to reducing exposure of personnel and equipment . A minimum of three ( 3 ) fire
extinguishers will be available within five feet to a maximum of 20 feet of work performed .
Emergency response will be through verbal communication by the site supervisor .
In the event of equipment failure the site supervisor will be notified and with this information he/she will
dictate necessary actions to be taken .
A sign - in sheet will control entrance/egress to the site . All personnel entering the work area will be required
to wear a safety vest and have appropriate shoes ( no canvas or opened towed footwear) . The site supervisor
may require employees, inspectors, and others to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, and or hearing protection
depending on the operation being performed at that time .
Emergency phone numbers are included with this plan and will be displayed in the storage shed .
i
