Beginning January 1, 2013, all businesses are required to submit all new (or any changes to existing) <br />hazardous waste information online to the CERS at http://cers.calepa.ca.gov. Be sure to include your hazardous <br />waste activity in the Businesses Activities section in CERS in addition to any other relevant activities and required <br />fields. This has been corrected as of 6/17/19. <br />This is a Class II violation. <br /> 403 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br />waste. <br />One 55 gallon steel drum of used oil was not securely closed. All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all <br />times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste <br />containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br />This is a minor violation. <br /> 406 CCR 66261.7 Contaminated container not marked with date emptied or managed within one year of being emptied. <br />Two empty 250 gallon above ground storage tanks were observed without labels outside the milk barn. Containers <br />larger than five gallons that previously held a hazardous material shall be marked with the date they were emptied and <br />managed within one year of being emptied. Immediately mark and manage all empty containers per this section. <br />This is a minor violation. <br /> 601 CCR 66262.34(d) Stored hazardous waste onsite greater than 180 days. <br />A 55 gallon steel drum containing used oil was observed outside the milk barn without a label or accumulation start <br />date. Facilities who generate less than 1000 kg of hazardous waste per month and do not exceed 6000 kg of waste <br />stored on site at any time may store waste on site up to 180 days. Immediately contact a licensed hazardous waste <br />hauler to dispose of this waste under manifest and submit a copy of the manifest to the EHD. <br />This is a Class II violation. <br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste. <br />One 55 gallon steel drum of used oil did not have an initial start date marked. The initial date of waste accumulation <br />shall be clearly marked and visible for inspection on each container used for satellite accumulation of hazardous <br />waste.
