Appendices B1,B2,63,64:Weights of Single-Wall,Double-Wall <br /> fill.Failure to follow this warning could result in death or serious and Multicompartment Tanks <br /> injury. • Appendix C:Primary Backfill Requirements <br /> 9.5.FILLING UL-LABELED/ULC-LABELED TANKS • Appendix D:Split Backfill Requirements <br /> A WARNING • Appendix E:Tank Installation Checklist <br /> Pump-filling or pressure-filling of the tank is not <br /> recommended because an overfill or overpressurization <br /> could occur.Overfilling the tank while under pressure <br /> could cause tank failure even if the tank is vented <br /> properly.Failure to follow this warning could result in <br /> tank failure,and could result in death or serious injury. <br /> 9.5.1.Each time the tank is filled,the tank owner or operator must <br /> make sure the tank is properly vented.See section 7. <br /> 9.5.2.The tank owner or operator must determine whether the tank <br /> has overfill protection,such as an automatic shut-off device(fill pipe <br /> flapper valve)or vent-restriction device(ball-float valve),which will close <br /> off the internal piping and reduce the tank's capacity. <br /> • If a tank has a vent-restriction device(ball-float valve), <br /> we recommend that the tank be gravity-filled only. <br /> • The tank owner or operator must notify whoever fills the tank if the <br /> tank has overfill protection,which reduces the tank's capacity. <br /> • Before each tank filling,the tank owner or operator or the delivery <br /> service must determine the tank's reduced capacity due <br /> to the overfill protection. <br /> • Then,the tank owner or operator or the delivery service must consult <br /> the instructions or guidelines provided by the installer <br /> and manufacturer of the overfill-protection device to <br /> determine how much additional product the tank can hold. <br /> 9.5.3.The tank owner or operator must ensure that the fill line and <br /> drop tube are adequately grounded to prevent static discharge during <br /> filling. <br /> 9.5.4.Initial fill rate should be controlled to limit the possibility <br /> of product sloshing. <br /> 10: DOCUMENT REVIEW <br /> 10.1.
