Brian,
The standard cost for a boring permit is:
$375 Site Mitigation fee
$375 Inspection Activity fee and
$125 for a Well/Boring Permit
That adds up to $875.
If a site has been in the system, then the Site Mitigation fee has already been paid, and the cost drops to $500 for a
boring permit.
A well permit would be $375 plus the number of wells times$125.
LOP sites, almost always, have already paid the Site Mitigation fee so you never see that fee applied.
Once in a while, I will get a permit for a piezometer that is just checking for water levels, not chemical contamination.
I have been told to waive the Site Mitigation fees for those, (though it drives me crazy).
On big projects, I use the number of parcels times $375 plus the number of wells times$125 plus the Site Mitigation Fee
of$375.
But a standard boring permit for a Phase 2 investigation, with all the borings on one parcel the fee is$875.
If you think that I am missing something, let me know.
Johnny Yoakum
Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
From: Brian Millman [mailto:bmillman(cbadvgeoenv.com]
Sent: Tuesday, September 10, 2013 10:32 AM
To: John Yoakum [EH]
Subject: Woodlake Cleaners -Permit Fees
Hi Johnny, I know you are the permitting and inspection guru!!....but will you please double check the costs for
4 borings on one parcel. We have other sites in the county where the cost was not 875.00 for borings on one
parcel.
Thanks,
Brian W.
