Soil samples
will be collected at a depth of five and eight feet below surface grade(bsg). The samples will be
obtained using a decontaminated hand auger/slide hammer sampler. The technician will hand
auger down to the desired sampling depth and sample the soil by slide hammering the sampling
device which holds a decontaminated stainless steel sleeve.
Task 3-Laboratory Analysis
Each of the soil samples collected for quantitative analysis will be submitted under chain-of-
custody control to Sequoia Analytical Laboratories (Sequoia) of Sacramento, California.
Sequoia is certified by the California Department of Toxic Substances to perform the requested
analyses.
A total of two (2) soil samples from the site will be submitted for analysis. The samples will be
submitted for:
• Extractable Fuel Fingerprint by EPA Method 8015M
• Total Purgeable Hydrocarbons by EPA Methods 8015/8020 M
• Benzene,Toluene,Ethylbenzene and Xylene(BTEX)by EPA Method 8015/8020 M
The samples will be analyzed on a regular laboratory turnaround schedule which requires
approximately two weeks to acquire the analytical data.
Task E04-Report Preparation
Upon completion of the soil sampling and our receipt and review of the analytical results, a
separate report will be prepared for client review. The report will include:
• A description of field activities,observations,and protocols
• Tabularized results of soil sample analysis with copies of certified analytical
laboratory results with chain-of-custody documentation
• Conclusions and recommendations
20-YP7-15112017P 103 page 2 of 4
0 1997 Kleinfelder,Inc.
