5
k'" KLEINFELDER
An employee owned company
File No. 20-3420-02.1301
September 12, 1997
Ms. Jeanette Pombo
Pombo Real Estate
Post Office Box 805
Tracy, California 95378
SUBJECT: LIMITED SOIL SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS
FORMER UNDERGROUND TANK LOCATION
11847 VALPICO ROAD
TRACY, CALIFORNIA
Dear Ms. Pombo:
In accordance with your request and authorization we sampled the soil from beneath the
location of the former underground storage tank at the above-referenced project site. The
work was witnessed by Mr. Steve Sasson of the San Joaquin County Public Heath
Services Department Environmental Health Division. It is our understanding that the
tank was removed about 1994.
On August 22, 1997, Mr. Roman Racca, a Kleinfelder project geologist, obtained one (1)
discrete soil sample. The soil sample collected at a depth of 7 feet, was obtained with the
use of a 843 Bobcat loader with power auger. This method was required because of
remnant concrete debris in the soil which eliminated the use of hand augering equipment.
There was no obvious petroleum odor or soil discoloration observed at the tank location
during sample collection. The sample was obtained by pushing a laboratory-clean brass
sample tube into the soil. The end of the tube was covered with Teflon film and tight-
fitting plastic caps. The sample was labeled and logged on a chain of custody record.
The sample was transported under chain of custody protocol to Sequoia Analytical of
Sacramento, California. Sequoia is certified by the State of California Department of
Toxic Substances Control for the requested analyses. The sample was subsequently
analyzed for the presence and concentration of:
• Fuel Fingerprint (TPH-Extractable as referenced to JP-4, JP-5, Kerosene, Diesel and
Lubricating Oil) by EPA Method 8015M
20-3420-02.130 1/201711465 Page No. I of 4
Copyright 1997, Kleinfelder.
