ARCADIS Mr. McKinley Lewis, Jr.
April 20, 2011
OCPs were not detected above the regulatory limits in comparison with the CHHSLs,
Residential Screening Levels (RSLs), and Environmental Screening Levels (ESLs)
for the 16 samples analyzed; however, detection limits were elevated in some of the
samples.
No VOCs, organophosphate pesticides, or herbicides were detected above
established regulatory limits in comparison of CHHSLs, RSLs, and ESLs and/or
laboratory detection limits in the soil samples analyzed at the Site.
PCBs were detected in two of the 14 samples analyzed above the CHHSL of 89
micrograms per kilogram (pg/kg). Soil sample B-6-05 indicated PCB Arochlor 1248,
1254, and 1260 at concentrations ranging from 210 to 470 pg/kg; however, the soil
sample collected and analyzed from 2.0 feet in B-6 did not contain PCBs above the
laboratory detection limits. Arochlor 1260 was detected in B-20-0.5 at 200 pg/kg.
PCB concentrations detected at the Site appear localized and defined to two
locations at the Site based on the analytical results as depicted on Figure 1.
Cadmium was detected above the CHHSL in six of the 49 samples analyzed. Based
on the analytical sampling and results, cadmium detected at the Site above the
CHHSL is shallow and defined in discrete areas.
SVOCs were not detected above the laboratory detection limits or regulatory limits in
comparison with CHHSLs, RSLs, and ESLs criteria except for beno(a)pyrene. A
concentration of benzo(a)pyrene of 57 pg/kg was detected in soil sample B-11-0.5.
Concentrations of benzo(a)pyrene were not detected in the deeper soil sample
collected at 2.0 feet bgs in B-11.
TPH as motor oil and diesel was detected above the ESLs in soil boring B-6-0.5 at
1,500 and 8,300 mg/kg, respectively. TPH concentrations in the deeper sample
collected from soil boring B-6-2.0 at 2 feet bgs were below the laboratory detection
limit.
Scope of Work
The scope of work for this Addendum is proposed as follows:further delineate
specified areas of concern identified during the PEA site evaluation; evaluate shallow
soil in an area formerly occupied by a pallet of lead-acid car batteries; sample an idle
domestic water well that was identified at the Site; repair the fence,- and conduct
weed abatement.
Page:
Final PEA Work Plan Addendum-Aprt t-RV009808.doc 5/11
