SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The proposed scope of services will include the following: <br /> Preliminary Activities <br /> Health and Safety Plan <br /> Since the proposed work may involve hazardous substances and potentially dangerous conditions, it will <br /> be necessary to develop a Health and Safety Plan that is specific to this site. The Occupational Safety and <br /> Health Administration (OSHA), under Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response 29 CFR <br /> 1910.120, requires the development of this plan. The site Health and Safety Plan is designed to reduce <br /> the risk of physical or chemical exposures that may affect workers in the proposed work area. The site <br /> Health and Safety Plan includes information about chemicals expected on the site, health and safety <br /> procedures for working on-site and emergency response procedures. <br /> Utility Markout <br /> California law requires that at least 72 hour notice is required prior to the initiation of any subsurface <br /> work (drilling, backhoe operation, etc.), that Underground Service Alert be contacted and a utility <br /> inspection be performed at the subject property. This inspection consists of the marking of underground <br /> utility locations by participating utilities. <br /> Subsurface Investigation <br /> Three soil borings will be completed on the property to a maximum depth of 20 feet below grade level <br /> (B IL)with a Geoprobe drilling rig. The borings will be completed around the UST area. <br /> Continuous soil samples will be collected from land surface to the terminal depths of the borings. The <br /> samples will be field screened with a photo-ionization detector (PID) to determine if volatile organic <br /> vapors are present. One soil sample per boring (total of four samples) will be selected for chemical <br /> analysis based upon the PID measurements and field observations. The soil samples will be analyzed for <br /> volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by EPA Method 8260 and for semi-volatile organic compounds <br /> (SVOCs)by EPA Method 8270. <br /> The analytical results will be available seven business days after the samples are submitted to the <br /> laboratory. The laboratory analytical results will be provided to San Joaquin County. <br /> The soil sampling locations will be abandoned in accordance with San Joaquin County requirements <br /> (borings into ground water will be tremie grouted with neat cement and borings in unsaturated soil will be <br /> free-fall grouted)and the surface will be topped with concrete,asphalt,or soil,which ever is appropriate. <br /> PHASE 11 LIMITED SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION 2 LAC PROJECT NO.07-53185.2 <br />
