Pagel of 2
Mike Infurna [EH]
To: Shortridge, Julie
Subject: RE: Revision to Well Permit Application - PGE Zuckerman Rd
Julie,
good job.. This is acceptable to me/the EHD. Please provide a well schematic that details
these dimensions and any product information on the 'pre-packed' well construction as soon as
you can..
thank you..
Michael Infurna
SJCEHD..
From: Shortridge, Julie [mailto:Julie.Shortridge@arcadis-us.com]
Sent: Wednesday, August 03, 2011 10:49 AM
To: Mike Infurna [EH]
Cc: Costa, Aaron; Ralph
Subject: Revision to Well Permit Application - PGE Zuckerman Rd
Dear Mike,
Thanks for your help over the phone today and for letting us know about San Joaquin County's
requirement for 2" of annular space for grouting. I spoke with Ralph at Woodward Drilling, and we would
like to do the following to ensure that there is at least 2 inches of annular space for the grouted extent of
the well:
Use direct-push 3.5" probes to drill to the total depth (17 feet bgs) as described in workplan, then over
drill with 8" hollow stem augers (this can still be done with a direct-push rig)to planned top of bentonite
(6 ft bgs). The pre-packed well will then be built through the probe rods as described in the workplan (10'
screened interval, one foot of bentonite), and then we will pull the probe rods to the bottom of the
auger, and then grout though auger to surface. Aside from the plan for overdrilling the top six feet of the
well, all other details on the construction will be unchanged from the plan presented in the workplan and
original permit application.
Could you please confirm that this is acceptable to you?
Thank you,
Julie
Julie Shortridge I Staff Environmental Engineer I julie.shortridge@arcadis-_is.coitI
ARCADIS U.S., Inc. 13101 Wilson Blvd. Suite 550 1 Arlington,VA 22201
T. 202.679.6535
www.arcadis-us.com
ARCADIS, Imagine the result
Please consider the environment before printing this email.
8/3/2011
