Bowman Road in French Camp, CA 95231. The poultry ranch operates year-round- The are a total of 14 hen houses of which nine have been refurbished with modem equipment; three are not in used and two buildings will be demolished by November 30, 2006. The are two manure storage lagoons on the property. There Is the large primary lagoon and a smaller secondary lagoon that is used for overflow protection in high rainfall years, but is normally dry- There are three wells serving the operation, a primary 25 hp well and two smaller back up wells. The prevailing wind direction is from the NW/W to the SE /E spring through fall. In the winter the wind predominately blows from N to S. Manure Management The 700,000 rna)dmum chickens are divided into two distinct housing systems. The north (front) unit is comprised of four"belt houses" and the south (back) unit is comprised of No"scrape and flush houses." In the "beft houses"there is a conveyor belt directly under each deck of chickens. Thew conveyors are run twice a week taking the manure to the end of the house where a cross conveyor takes the manure to a central elevator outside the houses. The manure is dropped into a manure spreader which is backed up to the bank of the lagoon and emptied into the lagoon. The re-circulating lagoon pumps take the manure with the resultant circulation patterns distributing it throughout the lagoon. In the "scrape and flush houses"three tiers of cages are off-set allowing the manure to fall directly to the concrete floor. Cables transport the manure to the rear of the house
