4444 West Undine Road
Stockton, CA 95206
May 19, 2006
Keith lsozaki, R..1 .H.S.
Department of Public Health
Division of Environmental Health
777 W. 22nd Street
Merced, CA 95340
: Olivera Egg Ranch 17252 - Ward Road, Los Banos
Property Owner: Hostetler Investments, Llc_ APN 083-150-041
Dear Keith,
Thank you for taking the time to go over the Public Elle on this facility_ We sincerely
appreciated your time and courtesy.
After our meeting, bill and l drove to the Ward Road site_ I'm enclosing photos of what
we observed. As described in my phone message to you yesterday, we saw piles of
drying manure, minced with trash(eggs, plastic, dead chickens, etc.)_ Some partially
damp areas could be seen. The screens along the walls of the buildings have separated
and hundreds of pigeons are in and o —obviously nesting inside where chickens used to
be. MANY flies—I expect they are breeding the pigeon manure. Of note: MANY
dead pigeons on the ground—freshly dead and old carcasses.
Keith, I don't live near this facility, but if I did I would be very concerned about the flies
and general filth on the site. How long it has sat in this state, I don't know. I don't know
if Olivera has transferred possession to Hostetler or t- But, in all fairness to the
property owners within a half mile (and there is a subdivision nearby), at least fly
abatement should be done.
Thanks again, for your attention to our concerns.
Sincerely,
Rogene Reynolds
