UTILTTy AND STREET MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT <br /> Page 2 <br /> administers and monitors approved budgets; prepares project cost estimates; orders supplies, tools, and <br /> materials; reviews and monitors purchase orders; participates in the equipment procurement process; <br /> monitors and controls supplies and equipment. <br /> • Assists in the preparation of the Department's Capital Improvement Program; develops and completes <br /> annual street slurry seal and street maintenance programs; develops and implements annual curb, gutter, <br /> and sidewalk replacement program;prepares and administers grants. <br /> • Responds to the more difficult questions and concerns from the general public, contractors, vendors, and <br /> outside agencies; provides information as is appropriate and resolves public service or operational <br /> complaints; establishes and maintains a customer service orientation within the Division. . <br /> • Establishes positive working relationships with representatives of community organizations, state/local <br /> agencies and associations,City management and staff,and the public. <br /> • Responsible for overseeing adherence of maintaining hazardous materials and supply inventory in an <br /> organized,clean, and safe configuration. <br /> • Ensure daily/weekly/monthly, etc. inspections of the facility are conducted, including all hazardous <br /> materials and hazardous waste. <br /> • Ensure hazardous material and/or hazardous waste inspection logs and facility records are maintained. <br /> • Ensure ongoing maintenance and complete corrective actions are performed to maintain waste facilities <br /> and equipment in safe working condition in accordance with Permit conditions.. <br /> • Oversee procedures for waste management and hazardous material or chemical handling, including <br /> sampling,weighing, and storing chemical containers are followed. <br /> • Oversee proper procedures are followed for preparing and completing hazardous waste profiles,manifests, <br /> shipping documents,and maintaining waste processing records. <br /> • Ensure current records for hazardous waste shipping manifests,supporting documentation,hazardous waste <br /> tracking documents etc. are properly maintained. <br /> • Follow prescribed safety procedures and comply with state and federal laws re ug lating hazardous materials <br /> handling,hazardous waste management, and proper disposal methods. <br /> • Participate in hazardous material and waste management training and professional development activities <br /> including necessary certification. <br /> PHYSICAL,MENTAL,AND ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS: <br /> Position requires prolonged sitting, standing,walking,reaching,twisting,turning,kneeling,bending, squatting and <br /> stooping in the performance of daily activities.The position also requires grasping,repetitive hand movement,and <br /> fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position.requires near and far <br /> vision in reading written reports and work related documents and acute hearing is required when providing phone <br /> and. personal service.
