Hi Lisa,
I'm just following up with you in regards to my email I sent you yesterday regarding the spills at our Louise
Ave. Water Treatment Facility (LAWTF). You mentioned you would be forwarding to the appropriate
individual. I'm just making sure you received my email and you don't need any other information from me. I
can always be contacted at 916-670-4070. Thank you.
Tony
From:Anthony Ouellette
Sent: Monday, October 10, 2016 11:46:24 AM
To: Imedina@sicehd.com
Cc: 'Milton Daley(mdaley@ci.lath rop.ca.us)';Scott Myers
Subject: City of Lathrop Spill- Louise Ave. Water Treatment Facility
Hi Lisa,
The following is the information you requested per our conversation regarding the reporting of spills:
On April 5, 2016 we had a leak of approximately 2 to 3 gallons ferric chloride in the chemical storage area. The
leak occurred within the secondary storage area and mixed with approximately 300 gallons of rain water.
On April 30, 2016 we had a leak of approximately 100 gallons of filter sludge, which contained a mixture of
arsenic and ferric chloride. The sludge leaked into an onsite storm drain, which leads to the City's retention
pond located on the site.
Both areas have been cleaned up and no employees or residents were affected by the spill.
Please let me know if you need anymore information. Thank you.
Tony Ouellette
916-670-4070
2
