Resources <br /> The TSCD staff includes industrial hygienists in each Regional <br /> Office who are available to assist in the development of SSP' s . <br /> The primary responsibility for the SSP lies with the contractor/ <br /> responsible party . However, the TSCD industrial hygienists ere <br /> responsible for review and approvel , prior to any site activities, <br /> of the SSP and any other health and safety considerations for a <br /> specific project. Verbal communications between the parties <br /> preparing the SSP and TSCD industrial hygienists is encouraged as <br /> this usually results in more expeditious approval of the SSP, which <br /> will then decrease the waiting period before site activities can <br /> begin. <br /> In terms of written materials, the EPA provides additional guidance <br /> documents regarding site safety and SSP development . <br /> Contractors who are working directly for the TSCD should consult <br /> their contracts or task orders for items which may be required in <br /> an SSP over and above the basic requirements detailed in this <br /> document. <br /> 1OX186 <br /> 5 <br />
