I am providing
the following in response to these comments:
I. The plan does not list the state approved laboratory that is to be used for analysis.
Doug Heard with Kleinfelder has been contacted and will include the name of the
lab, Sequoia Labs of Sacramento, in the sampling plan.
2. The plan does not indicate the samples will be analyzed for PAHs. This test will
be included.
3. The EHD requires that all analytical data be sent directly from the laboratory.
Following completion of sampling and testing Kleinfelder has been instructed to
have the testing lab provide a copy of the results to the EHD.
4. In the plan there is a reference to possible reuse of the material as aggregate sub-
base. This is not an option. The material must go for disposal or treatment. This
line was inadvertently included in the sampling plan and will be removed in the
final draft to read: "Does not include regulatory meetings/contacts". There is no
intention on Granite's part to use this material in any construction use. Following
material characterization, the material will be disposed of in an appropriate
manner.
A revised sampling plan is currently being completed and will address these issues.
Please contact me at (209) 603-3617 with any additional questions.
Sincerely,
!;,a " Q ",
Deb Keeland
Plant Environmental Engineer
Stockton Branch
Box 151
Stockton, CA 95201
(209)982-4750
FAX (209) 983-1257
