Box 151 <br />Stockton, California 95201 <br />SUBJECT: Report <br />Limited Soil Sampling and Analyses <br />Burn Material Stockpile <br />Granite Construction <br />Tracy Facility <br />Tracy, California <br />Dear Ms. Keeland: <br />In accordance with your request and authorization, Kleinfelder has conducted limited soil <br />sampling and analysis of stockpiled soil located at the above -referenced site. The work was <br />performed in accordance with Kleinfelder's Proposal 20-YP 1-611, dated July 3, 2001 and as <br />authorized on July 23, 2001 (P.O. # 2151215) and under our exiting Master Services Agreement. <br />Granite Construction Company uncovered approximately 75 yards of soil with ash and remnant <br />bottles during trenching operations at the Granite Tracy facility. Mr. Robert McClellon of San <br />Joaquin County Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) observed the <br />material and has requested that a workplan be submitted for the purpose of characterizing the <br />material. PHS/EHD also requested that the material be sampled and analyzed for the following <br />analyses: <br />• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Referenced to Gasoline (TPH-G) by EPA Method <br />8015M <br />• Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Referenced to Diesel (TPH-D) by EPA Method <br />8015M/3015 <br />• Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Total Xylenes (BTEX) by EPA Method 8020 <br />• Total Threshold Limit Concentrations (TTLCs) of California Assessment Manual (CAM - <br />17) metals by EPA Methods <br />• Semi -Volatile Organics by EPA Method 8270 <br />Granite Construction requested Kleinfelder to develop a workplan to address PHS/EHI)s request. <br />Kleinfelder initial workplan was review by PHS/EHD with review comments outlined in a letter <br />titled "Burn Material Sampling Plan", dated June 28, 2001.
