Lodi Chrome
Mr. Reggie Mason
March 15, 2004
Page 3
• Lodi Chrome violated Health and Safety Code sections 25160 and 25163 by
failing to complete a uniform hazardous waste transport manifest for hazardous
waste polishing dust sent to the county landfill.
Since Lodi Chrome has stated that all polishing dust waste is now being managed in
accordance with the laws and regulations applicable to the management of hazardous
waste, no further action is required to address these additional violations.
Based upon the records you submitted regarding employee training, it appears that
Lodi Chrome had provided some training for employees prior to the date of the
inspection. However, Lodi Chrome is required to maintain training records at the
facility pursuant to California Code of Regulations, title 22, section 66265.16, and
Lodi Chrome did not have employee training records available at the facility on the date
of DTSC's inspection. Based on the training records submitted with your letter of
February 16, 2004, DTSC is hereby reclassifying violation 4 in section I of the SOV as a
Class II violation instead of a Class I violation.
DTSC has determined that Lodi Chrome has adequately addressed all other violations
documented on December 22, 2003 that were not specifically discussed in this letter.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this letter, you may contact me at
(916) 255-3781.
Sincerely,
G C
Robert J.
