HEGEIVEL
JAN 2 6 20'
-NVIRONMENTAI
SECTION 4—RECOMMENDATIONS JCQI TIJ nCDADT44CM
4.1 Engineer's Recommendations
PE Certification of this document is contingent on completion of the following four (4) recommendations within
30 days:
1. Install an UL listed emergency relief vent rated above 147,000 cubic feet per hour(CFH) on the primary
tank, consistent with manufacturer's specifications. The plastic cover currently on the six (6) inch
secondary tank's emergency vent port is suitable for meeting secondary tank venting requirements.
Although not necessary at this time, if replaced, the only acceptable replacement for the plastic cap on the
secondary tank is an UL listed emergency relief vent rated above 168,000 CFH.
2. Remove absorbent mats and cleanup materials from around and under the tank. These materials make it
difficult to identify when and where leaks have occurred. Keep the area in and around the tank
appropriately clean so as to allow for adequate inspection for leaks.
3. Clean accumulated oil and residues from all tank and pipe surfaces and maintain an appropriately clean
surface. This will help to identify and locate any leaks that may develop so that they may be addressed in
a timely manner.
4. Reapply an approved paint or protective coating to the tank. There are several areas that have bare metal
exposed. Make sure that any signage and/or tank labels are not obscured/covered in the process; replace
labels if necessary.
5. Modify the tank and procedures used to inspect it as necessary to ensure that all elements of the Daily
Inspection log are met.
4.2 Other Recommendations
In addition to the above required recommendations,we also recommend the following:
• Perform tank assessment every five years,at a minimum, and maintain records accordingly.
• Continue daily inspections of the Tank and document findings on the hazardous waste oil tank inspection
checklist.
• Maintain completed inspection checklists in accordance with Jiffy Lube's Hazardous Materials Business
Plan requirements.
Ha=ardous Waste Tank System Assessment and Certification Page 9 of 12 NES,Inc.
Broadbase,Inc.
