(Pape) acquired the Central California Kenworth, [dba. Pape Kenworth]
located at 10988 South Harlan Road in French,Camp,California.
Pape Kenworth was inspected by the San Joaquin County Department of Environmental Health
(County) on May 15,2008. From that inspection,Pape Kenworth received a Notice to Comply
with storage and handling requirements for hazardous and universal wastes. The General
Manager at Kenworth responded by correcting the deficiencies noted in the inspection report and
sent return-to-compliance correspondence to the County on June 20,2008.
All items were immediately addressed with the exception of an engineering assessment of the
tanks containing used oil and used antifreeze, for which the County was asked for assistance in
locating a qualified engineer or firm to conduct the tank assessment and certification. No
response was received from the County.
The purpose of this letter is to notify you that all conditions on the County's inspection report
have been met. Inspections of the used oil tank system and the used antifreeze tank were
conducted on December 12,2008,by HMT Inspection, a firm certified to conduct the testing and
professional engineering certification per Title 22 requirements. As specified in CCR 66265.192,
copies of the tank assessment report will be retained onsite as well as the corporate office, and
assessments will be conducted every five years.
Kenworth has also (1) conducted additional training of their service department supervisors and
staff responsible for inspections and documentation; (2) ordered additional spill prevention
equipment for use in the event of an emergency;and(3) included a contingency plan meeting Title
22 requirements as a supplement to the emergency response section of the hazmat business plan.
541-683-5073 Pap6 Properties,Inc.
