The well was installed in November 2000 as a domestic/private well
(SR0024485). The well is composed of 8-inch diameter plastic casing installed in
a 14-inch diameter borehole to a total depth of 205 feet bsg. The well grout seal is
installed to 108 feet bsg.
• One well is located in the southwest corner of the nursery (DW-2). The well was
installed in August 2006 as an irrigation/agricultural well (SR0047692). The well is
composed of 8-inch diameter plastic casing installed in a 14-inch diameter
borehole to a total depth of 203 feet bsg. The well grout seal is installed to 100 feet
bsg.
• One well is located along the eastern property boundary adjacent to the storage
shed in the northeast portion of the site (DW-3). The well was installed in May 1998
as a domestic/private and irrigation well (SR015592). The well is composed of 8-
inch diameter plastic casing installed in a 14-inch diameter borehole to a total
depth of 200 feet bsg. The well grout seal is installed to 100 feet bsg.
The onsite wells provide potable water to the existing residences and nursery at the
subject property. The approximate locations of the wells are depicted in Figure 3 and
copies of the well permits are included in Appendix B.
4.4. CONSTITUENTS BEING TESTED FOR IN THE WATER SAMPLE
Nitrate (NO3) constituents were tested in the existing groundwater supply well at the
subject property.
4.5. GROUNDWATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
On 09 September 2020, samples of the drinking water provided by the three groundwater
supply wells at the site were collected in unpreserved 0.5-liter plastic containers. The
groundwater sample containers were properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and
transported under chain-of-custody protocols to McCampbell Analytical, Inc. (MAI), a
California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP)-certified laboratory.
The samples were analyzed for Nitrate as Nitrogen (N) and Nitrate as NO3-.
4.6. GROUNDWATER ANALYTICAL REPORT
Nitrates were detected in the water samples collected from each water supply well at the
subject property. The following is a summary of laboratory results:
• Nitrate as N was detected at 9.7 milligrams per liter (mg/1) and Nitrate as NO3-was
detected at 43 mg/I in the water sample collected from DW-1.
