The expansion has been approved by the Lodi
City Planning Commission and the San Joaquin Local Health
District. Final approval must now be obtained by the State
Solid Waste Management Board (SWMB) .
Because the County now has an approved Solid Waste Management
Plan, the SWMB requires that the County, as Lead Agency for
the Plan, indicate in writing to the SWMB that the Transfer
Station is in conformance with the Plan and that the County
does not object to the expansion. As a result, this office
has contacted the City of Lodi and the Health District to
confirm their approval. It has also reviewed the Solid
Waste Management Plan and discussed this request with a
representative of the SWMB and with County Counsel. The re-
quest appears to conform with the Plan, and since it has
been endorsed by the City of Lodi and is located within that
City, the County should not find any objections to the pro-
posed expansion.
Since the SWMB does not require approval by the Board of
Supervisors for this request, a letter of approval has been
prepared, to be sent to the SWMB over the signature of the
County Administrator. A copy of this letter is attached.
Also attached, for the Board' s information, is a copy of
Sanitary City Disposal ' s letter to the County Administrator
initiating the request for a statement of conformance along
with a copy of the Lodi City Planning commission' s approval
of a Use Permit.
L
