Milgeo Road, Ripon
APN 261-220-11, SR0082659
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (EHD) has reviewed the Soil
Suitability/Nitrate Loading (SSNL) Study, dated August 25, 2020 and submitted on September 29,
2020 for the above noted location, and has the following comments for your consideration.
The SSNL was prepared to determine the suitability of the above noted parcel for onsite wastewater
treatment system (OWTS) usage and the potential long-term impact of nitrate to groundwater for the
following proposed project.
1. A 1,404 square foot 2-bedroom home.
Based on the information provided, the EHD can make the following findings:
1. The SSNL Study supports the (OWTS) usage with the following conditions:
a. According to the SSNL, the estimated nitrate loading from existing and proposed OWTS
usage is 12.8 mg/L as nitrate-nitrogen and the maximum contaminant level of 10 mg/L-N.
EHD will require the mitigation of nitrate-nitrogen through an engineered Onsite
Wastewater Treatment System.
b. A Registered Civil Engineer shall submit complete engineering design plan to EHD for
approval prior to issuance of building permit. Fee will be based on the current fee schedule
at time of payment.
If you have any questions please contact Naseem Ahmed, Senior Registered Environmental Health
Specialist, at nahmed@sjgov.org or (209) 616-3018.
Muniappa Naidu, REHS
Assistant Director
c: Terracon
1868 E.
