Michael Kith [EH]
From: Nagy, Michael [MNagy@wm.com]
Sent: Thursday, July 14, 2011 4:01 PM
To: Michael Kith [EH]
Cc: Waters, Brian
Subject: Lodi Transfer Station Mining Process
Michael
Per our phone conversation earlier today, I wanted to layout how we will be mining cardboard/OCC out of the MSW stream.
First off, our no scavenging policy is still strictly enforced. The mining of OCC is directed at inbound loads that may have a higher
volume of OCC.This means we will focus of our four commercial routes and one industrial route. The loads from these routes will
be dumped in a separate location on the tipping floor to allow the loader operator to separate the OCC from MSW as much as
possible with only the use of the loader. No floor sorting will take place. All the material that is sorted by the loader will be
loaded into a roll off container and then taken to the MRF to be sorted on the sorting line.
I will go into greater detail about our new technique when I see you next time. Until then, let me know if you have any immediate
concerns or questions.
Michael Nagy
Lodi Transfer Station Supervisor
1333 E.Turner Road
Lodi, Ca 95240
(916)439-0067
Waste Management recycles enough paper every year to save 41 million trees. Please recycle any
printed eails.
11/30/2011
