Weber Avenue, Third Floor <br /> Stockton CA 95202-2708 <br /> RE: Electronic Waste Collection Event on Saturday, May 20, 2006; Central <br /> Valley Waste Services; 1333 East Turner Road, Lodi, CA; SWIS 39-AA- <br /> 0017 <br /> Dear Mr. Girardi: <br /> Central Valley Waste Services (CVWS) submits this letter in response to your <br /> request for additional information on the Electronic Waste Collection Event <br /> scheduled to be conducted at CVWS on Saturday, May 20, 2006,from 9:00 a.m. <br /> to 3:00 p.m. This event is sponsored by the City of Lodi and San Joaquin <br /> County. <br /> Description of Coilection/Storage Activities <br /> The collection event will be open to the public and eligible businesses. Materials <br /> to be collected are electronic devices, CRT devices, mercury lamps, mercury <br /> devices and batteries. Location of the collection and storage area is on the <br /> southeast side of the facility adjacent to the white goods storage area. This area <br /> is illustrated on the enclosed Figure 1. <br /> Central Valley Waste Services (CVWS) is utilizing the services of Onsite <br /> Electronics Recycling for the collection, packaging, and recycling of the collected <br /> materials. Onsite Electronics Recycling has submitted the required notifications <br /> for handling of Universal Wastes at the site to the California Department of Toxic <br /> Substances Control. Activities on-site will be limited to collection and storage <br /> pending approval by the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department <br /> (SJC-EHD) of the amended Transfer and Processing Report to be submitted by <br /> CVWS. If the approval of the TPR is completed prior to off-site shipment of the <br /> collected materials, Onsite Electronics Recycling may perform some recycling <br /> activities on-site. In the event this option is exercised, CVWS will notify the SJC- <br /> EH D. <br /> Onsite Electronics Recycling will provide the required staff, equipment and <br /> supplies for operating the event.
