Used oil can be observed on the floor <br /> throughout the room. <br /> The following was observed in the main shop: <br /> -Used oil accumulating underneath one oil pump located adjacent used tire storage area. <br /> -Metal fines observed accumulating on one metal brake lathe machine. <br /> -One 20 gallon mobile used oil container observed with used oil accumulating underneath valve. <br /> -One 30 gallon mobile used oil container observed with used oil accumulating on container. Operator pumped used <br /> oil off of caddy and transferred used oil to one 240 gallon used oil tank. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE:A hazardous waste generator must maintain and operate its facility to minimize the <br /> possibility of a fire, explosion, or any unplanned sudden or non-sudden release of hazardous waste or hazardous <br /> waste constituents to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately, clean stains,fix any potential leaks, and clean up accumulating used oil and <br /> metal fines. Manage the waste according to Title 22 California Code of Regulations for hazardous waste. Submit a <br /> statement and supporting documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department describing <br /> the storage and final disposition of the cleaned up waste. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 403 CCR 66265.173 Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> OBSERVATION: The following open hazardous waste storage containers were observed in the hazardous waste <br /> storage area: <br /> -One 55-gallon container with oily solids observed with non-secured lid.
