designation "is intended to provide for large lot rural homesites within or adjacent to
existing Rural Communities. Lots will generally have sufficient area to allow for
individual water supply, sewage disposal, and storm water drainage, but not to support
significant commercial agriculture."
Existing and Proposed Septic Tank Usage
Existing Septic System
Two septic systems are currently located on the Site.
Proposed Septic System
Mr. White plans to install a new septic system for the new residence.
On-Site Septic Permit History
The San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department septic permit files were
searched for the Site. Four septic permits were identified:
• May 1964 permit for addition to existing residential septic system. Three leach
lines, 49, 55, and 19 feet in length, were added to the existing system.
• December 1984 permit for repair to existing residential septic system. Three 70-
foot leach lines were added to the existing system.
• July 2001 permit for replacement of a 1,600-gallon septic tank at residential
septic system.
• November 2010 permit for destruction of septic system behind pool.
These permits have been included in Appendix 4 of this report.
Existing Septic Tank Usage in the Vicinity
To estimate the septic system usage in the area, our office counted septic systems that
exist within approximately one square mile surrounding the property. Air photo imagery
from Google Earth was used. Each building cluster on the photo was assumed to have
one septic system. Using this method, it is estimated that at least 67 septic systems per
square mile are located in the immediate vicinity of the Site.
The Site is located in a rural residential neighborhood east of Highway 33; a school is
located to the north. The properties to the west of Highway 33 are orchards.
LOGE 20-42 Page 2
