*BE
) SAFE
A T - VVA F - FOCUSED - E IF' 1 I i
California Annual Hazardous Materials Business Plan
Training
VZLearn Course Code YYN95389
All sites in California that contain a hazardous material or mixture containing a hazardous material having
a quantity at any one time during the reporting year equal to or greater than 55 gallons (liquids), 500
pounds (solids), or 200 cubic feet for a compressed gas must have a hazardous materials business plan
(HMBP). A HMBP contains procedures in the event of a release or threatened release of hazardous
materials. HMBP's for California facilities can be located at the Verizon Compliance Information
Management System (CIMS) website. This training must include a review of an actual hazardous
materials business. The CIMS website also contains access to safety data sheets (SDS's). In California,
all employees that may come in contact with any hazardous materials must be trained on the contents of
hazardous material business plans and how to access these plans annually in addition to hazard
communication training.
Obtain a HMBP by accessing the Compliance Information Management System (CIMS) website
STEP 1: At the top of the webpage there is a "Find a Facility" search box. You can enter a Facility ID to
perform a search or enter in an address, city or state for a search. The Facility ID is typically
the standard 2-character state identifier followed by the 5-7 digit Geographical Location Code
(GLC) assigned to the building (e.g. CALLAGCA, CASMNTCA, CASTMKCA, etc.).
STEP 2: After the facility information has been entered into the search area, possible facility matches
will appear. Select the location you are looking for and this will access the landing page for the
location.
STEP 3: Select Facility Documents, Business Plan and View File (PDF)
Once the appropriate employees have been identified and received the necessary training on their
specific HMBP, please record the results of this training in SMP using the course code listed at the top of
this document. Should you have any questions regarding this training, please contact your Global
E,H&S representative.
We AreVERIZON
CNTWAJT7,MPET,PEATOIWANCLEECELLIWi•aC[0yKM1F v
