12 October 2020 AdvancedGeo
Project No. 20-6164
4.2. GROUNDWATER CONTAMINATION IN THE AREA OF THE SITE
The immediately adjacent and outlying land use for the parcel is agricultural and
residential. Potential groundwater contamination can occur from several sources
including leaking underground storage tanks, septic systems, agricultural activities,
dairies, and stormwater infiltration.
A review of the California Department of Toxics and Substance Control (DTSC)
EnviroStor Database and the Geotracker Web site did not reveal any sites of
environmental concern within a half-mile radius of the subject property.
4.3. ON-SITE EXISTING WELL DESCRIPTION
There is one existing domestic water supply well on the property. There are no records
on file at EHD or the Department of Water Resources with well construction or installation
information. The onsite well provides potable water to the existing residence and property.
4.4. CONSTITUENTS BEING TESTED FOR IN THE WATER SAMPLE
Nitrate (NO3) constituents were tested in the existing groundwater supply well at the
subject property.
4.5. GROUNDWATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
On 01 October 2020, a water sample was collected in an unpreserved 0.5-liter plastic
container from the existing groundwater supply well at 21145 East Sara Lane. The
groundwater sample container was properly labeled, placed in a chilled container and
transported under chain-of-custody protocols to McCampbell Analytical, Inc. (MAI), a
California Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELAP)-certified laboratory.
The sample was analyzed for Nitrate as Nitrogen (N) and Nitrate as NO3--
4.6. GROUNDWATER ANALYTICAL REPORT
Nitrate as N was detected at 1.9 milligrams per liter (mg/1) and Nitrate as NO3- was
detected at 8.6 mg/I in the water sample. The MAI laboratory report (Work Order:
2010098) with quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) reports and chain-of-custody
form are provided in Appendix C.
5.0. SOIL PROFILE
An OWTS Permit was issued for the property by the EHD on 24 September 2020 to
perform a percolation test (Appendix D). On 01 October 2020, a 4-inch diameter hand
