SOIL SUITABILITY STUDY
Introduction
Live Oak GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (Live Oak) was contracted by Ernest and Pam
Holguin to conduct a Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study for the property
located at 9100 North Jonathon Court, Stockton, California.
The Soil Suitability Study and Nitrate Loading Study are combined under this report
cover and presented as two sections of this report. The formatting of the report has
been designed to follow the recommendations of the San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department as described in its Soil Suitability Study
Requirements Checklist and Nitrate Loading Study Requirements Checklist.
The Soil Suitability Study was conducted to determine whether the soils are suitable for
use with a septic system. The study was performed according to the requirements of
Section 9-1105.2(d) of the San Joaquin County Development code.
Proposed Development
The Holguins indicated that they purchased the Site with the existing primary residence
and second unit dwelling. Because of problems with odors, they inquired about
repairing the septic system; currently, the septic effluent from the second unit dwelling
flows to a lift station, where it is routed to the system for the main house. The Holguins
intend to install a new discrete system for the second unit dwelling.
Site Description
The Site is composed of Assessor's Parcel Number (APN) 085-580-07, 1.49 acres in
size. The Site is located at 9100 North Jonathon Court, Stockton (Plate 1).
A primary residence and second unit dwelling are located on the Site. A well and septic
system serve the existing homes (Plate 2).
The elevation of the Site, according to a United States Geological Survey topographic
map, is approximately 35 feet above mean sea level. The Site is relatively flat (Plate 3).
According to the San Joaquin County District Viewer (sjmap.org), the Site is zoned R-R,
Rural Residential. The San Joaquin County Community Development Department
states that this zoning designation "is intended to provide for large lot rural homesites
within or adjacent to existing Rural Communities. Lots will general have sufficient area
to allow for individual water supply, sewage disposal, and storm water drainage, but not
to support significant commercial agriculture."
LOGE 20-49 Page 1
