Roos Ranches:Eric Winters-President
Dave Van Elderen-Treasurer
Jeff Stuit Manager
Dear Supervisor Ornellas:
Roos Ranches is a machine hire company in the almond industry. We use roll off bins to transport
almonds from our fields to our almond shelter_ To utilize our investment in the non-harvest months, Roos
Ranches rents out its roll off bins for construction, demolition, greenhouse facilities and general clean up
demands from the ag community in SanJoaquin County.
Roos Ranches has received a complaint from the Environmental Health Departmnt.(See attached) This
complaint was initiated by a competitor in San Joaquin County. The demands from this department in order
for us to continue operation is to obtain a Collectors License for San Joaquin County which involves:
A)A$20,000 cashiers check or an irrevocable letter of credit(which is nonrefundable).
B)County Business License
C)An audited financial statement for the preceding calendar year and a yearly review of such books.
Our question to you is what is the purpose of the audited financial statement? And is there any way in
which we can continue in this disposal operation without obtaining a collectors license or any of the
conditions to get a license?
We have been incorporated since 1974 and am a very reputable company and feel that these conditions
are a little bit extreme for a small company as ours is. We average approximately 200 loads of waste a year
in San Joaquin County. It is not our intention to burn any bridges or go over any departments head,we are
just trying to see if this is financially feasible to continue this division of our business. We would
appreciate any help your office could give us on this matter.
if you have any further questions or need any more information please cal l Jeff Stuit at 599-4099 or
595-0160.
Sincerely,
J l
Jeff Stuit
General Manager
z
-d dgy :21 co 62 Pew
