The following is an itemized list of hazardous waste violations that have not been <br /> addressed for Fremont Plaza Ace Hardware as of January 05, 2021. <br /> Open violations from June 05, 2020 inspection <br /> Violation#713-UWH stored UW onsite greater than one year or was unable to demonstrate storage time. <br /> OBSERVATION:At least 30 used fluorescent lamps were observed the facility's overstock area.According to <br /> Brandon Hibler, the operations manager,these used fluorescent lamps have been on-site for longer than one year. <br /> REGULATION GUIDANCE: <br /> (a)A universal waste handler shall accumulate universal waste for no longer than one year from the date the <br /> universal waste was generated, or was received from another universal waste handler. <br /> (b)A universal waste handler shall be able to demonstrate the length of time that the universal waste has been <br /> accumulated from the date it became a waste or was received.The universal waste handler may make this <br /> demonstration by: <br /> (1)Placing the universal waste in a container and marking or labeling the container with the earliest date that any <br /> universal waste in the container became a waste or was received; <br /> (2)Marking or labeling the individual item of universal waste(e.g., each battery or thermostat)with the date it <br /> became a waste or was received; <br /> (3)Maintaining an inventory system onsite that identifies the date the universal waste being accumulated became a <br /> waste or was received; <br /> (4)Maintaining an inventory system onsite that identifies the earliest date that any universal waste in a group of <br /> items of universal waste or a group of containers of universal waste became a waste or was received; <br /> (5)Placing the universal waste in a specific accumulation area and marking or labeling the area to identify the <br /> earliest date that any universal waste in the area became a waste or was received; or <br /> (6)Any other method which clearly demonstrates the length of time that the universal waste has been accumulated <br /> from the date it became a waste or was received. <br /> CORRECTIVE ACTION: Immediately dispose of the universal waste fluorescent lamps in accordance with Title 22 <br /> California Code of Regulations. Provide a corrective action statement,the disposal record and supporting <br /> documentation to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department(EHD)within 30 days. <br /> ❑ This violation was corrected ❑This violation will be corrected by(date): <br /> ❑ Supporting documents included <br /> Describe actions taken or will be taken to correct violation: <br /> Page 3 of 3 <br />
