Using the
109 3/8
4852
115 3/8
4990
proper methods when gauging your tank's contents will insure the most accurate reading and insure that you
109 1/2
4856
115 1/2
4993
do not damage your tank. The following procedure should be followed whenever you use a gauge stick to
109 5/8
4859
115 5/8
4995
determine the amount of product that is in your tank:
109 3/4
4863
115 3/4
4997
1) Use a wood dipstick with a rubber or nylon tip. Metallic dipsticks are not recommended. This will insure
109 7/8
4866
115 7/8
4999
that frequent tank gaugings or an accidental dropping of the gauge stick into the tank will not damage the
110
4870
116
5001
tank bottom.
110 1/8
4873
116 1/8
5003
2) Slowly lower your gauge stick into the fill port until it touches the tank bottom. Never free drop the gauge
110 1/4
4876
116 1/4
5005
stick. This can result in inaccurate measurements due to product splashing. Free dropping can also result
110 3/8
4880
116 3/8
5007
i n gauge stick damage and tank damage.
110 1/2
4883
116 1/2
5008
3) Remove your dipstick slowly and read the product level directly from the gauge stick.
110 5/8
4886
116 5/8
5010
110 3/4
4889
116 3/4
5012
Water Paste Detection
110 7/8
4893
116 7/8
5014
To detect water in the tank bottom, water detection paste is available from petroleum equipment distributors.
111
4896
117
5016
However, some water detection paste cannot detect antifreeze mixtures. If antifreeze mixtures are used for
111 1/8
4899
117 1/8
5017
the cavity monitoring fluid, the following product is capable of detecting water or antifreeze (brine or up to 50
111 1/4
4902
117 1/4
5019
percent glycol) solution in the tank water bottoms:
111 3/8
4905
117 3/8
5020
WATER FINDER #7686-1870
111 1/2
4908
117 1/2
5022
DAYCO/NATIONAL
111 5/8
4911
117 5/8
5023
111 3/4
4914
117 3/4
5025
DAYTON, OH
111 7/8
1 4917
1 117 7/8
1 5026
TEL: 1-800-283-2926
FAX: 1-800-688-4854
112
4920
118
5028
112 1/8
4923
118 1/8
5029
112 1/4
4926
118 1/4
5030
Caution
112 3/8
4929
118 3/8
5031
Pressurized deliveries are not recommended.
