The last correspondence I have regarding the Glass Landfill area was back
on 8 Dec 2015 about backfilling. Typically, a request for closure document is submitted to the Regional Board
which makes the case for closure with supporting evidence of successful cleanup of the site requesting closure.
If the Regional Board is to consider closure of the Glass Landfill site, it must review the
documents/information. It would be very helpful if you or the Responsible Party could provide the
documentation/information that your agencies are reviewing for closure consideration.
Ann M. They are proposing
to construct a very large warehouse there. They are willing to take another sample for CH4 and do some
additional trenches in the easement. This is proposed and I have not seen any plans. I just wanted to let you
know that we met with them and what was discussed. I directed them to contact the RWQCB, APCD and local
planning. They wanted a closure letter and I explained that we could not provide that due to the fact that the
neighboring property still contained waste. Please let me know your comments.
