The feedstock caught on fire at night on 9/18/11. The operator, Jed Phelps,arrived on site <br /> around 6:45 am on 9/19/11. <br /> 2. The fire department was contacted and worked on putting out the fire. <br /> 3. During the inspection the feedstock piles in some areas was smoldering and in other areas was still on <br /> fire. The piles were being sprayed with water and moved to lower the temperature. The fire <br /> department was no longer on site. According to Jed,the fire department will come out daily to <br /> monitor the piles. <br /> 4. The Special Occurences log was completed and available for review during the inspection. <br /> 5. Note that on 9/26/11 a status check was performed. The piles were no longer on fire or smoldering. <br /> According to Jed,the facility will still continue to monitor the piles. The piles will eventually be used <br /> for compost or taken to Forward Landfill for disposal. <br />
