<br />Soil Investigations for Data Collection in the Delta <br />Initial Study/Proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration 43 <br />2) range and distribution relative to the Study Area. <br />Ranks were assigned based on the following criteria: <br />• None: The Study Area does not support suitable habitat for the species and/or <br />the Study Area is outside of the known and presumed range of the species; <br /> <br />• Low: The Study Area includes limited or poor-quality habitat for the species <br />and/or there are no documented occurrences within the vicinity of the Study <br />Area; <br /> <br />• Moderate: The Study Area includes suitable habitat for the species and there are <br />documented occurrences in the vicinity of the Study Area; <br /> <br />• High: The Study Area includes suitable habitat for the species and there are <br />documented occurrences within the Study Area. <br />3.4.1.2 Habitat Types <br />The Holland natural community types within the Study Area include chenopod scrub, <br />cismontane woodland, marshes and swamps, meadows and seeps, riparian scrub, <br />riparian forest, riparian woodland, valley and foothill grassland, and vernal pools <br />(Hickson & Keeler-Wolf 2007, Holland 1986, Sawyer et al 2009). A large portion of the <br />Study Area has been developed or converted to cropland. These land cover types are <br />not expected to support special-status plant species. <br />3.4.1.3 Special-Status Species <br />For the purposes of this analysis, special-status has been defined to include those <br />species that meet the definitions of rare or endangered wildlife or plants under CEQA <br />including species that are: <br /> <br />• Listed as endangered or threatened under the FESA (or formally proposed for, or <br />candidates for, listing); <br /> <br />• Listed as endangered or threatened under CESA (or proposed for listing); <br /> <br />• Designated as endangered or rare, pursuant to California Fish and Game Code <br />Section 1901; <br /> <br />• Designated as fully protected, pursuant to California Fish and Game Code <br />Sections 3511, 4700, or 5050; <br /> <br />• Designated as a species of special concern to the CDFW; or <br />
